Do you have experience in local flood risk management and Property Flood Resilience (PFR)? Are you an experienced Project Manager? If so, we are looking for someone like you to join our established resilience team based at our Skipton office.
Our client is in a unique position being 1 of only 2 consultants on the Environment Agency Property Flood Resilience (PFR) Framework and the only consultant across all Next Generation Supplier Arrangement (NGSA) procurement lots. The successful candidate will help to shape flood risk management and flood resilience services across the business, supporting the delivery of Property Flood Resilience and wider flood risk projects.
You will work closely with leading experts in flood risk and PFR with clients such as Environment Agency, Network Rail, Natural Resources Wales, Local Authorities and the private sector.
You will have an environmental or physical science related qualification, degree or equivalent.
Applicants should be chartered or show a desire to work towards becoming chartered. We will support you through our professional mentoring programming to gain chartership if required.
Strong and proven communications skills are a prerequisite for this position. We are looking for a hardworking professional who is empathetic towards communities and individuals who have suffered the misery of flooding and demonstrates a desire to help.
You will have the ability to work on your own or as part of a remote team, have experience of problem solving and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with their colleagues, clients and members of the public.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate involvement with flood alleviation schemes and studies and understand how flood risk is managed locally. You will be required to contribute to other projects on behalf of Lead Local Flood Authorities and Local Planning Authorities, therefore knowledge of the roles and responsibilities is required. An understanding of local flood risk management activities including governance and policy is required to support this role.
Strong report writing and time management skills are essential.
