Associate / Associate Director – Water

We are representing a highly regarded consultancy that is expanding its operations in Manchester and looking for an Associate / Associate Director to lead this growth. This is an exceptional chance to help build a team from the ground up, using your design expertise and leadership skills to deliver outstanding results.

The Role

This position offers a unique blend of leadership, technical design, and business development. You’ll be instrumental in growing the team, delivering high-quality projects, and establishing the Water discipline in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the establishment and growth of the Water team in Manchester, supported by experienced teams elsewhere in the UK.
• Deliver civil engineering design services for water and wastewater projects, covering both infrastructure (e.g., pipelines, drainage systems) and non-infrastructure (e.g., treatment plants).
• Prepare and oversee fee proposals and ensure successful project delivery within agreed budgets and timelines.
• Foster and develop client relationships to secure new business opportunities and contribute to regional and companywide targets.
• Champion best practices in design delivery, utilizing the latest digital tools and techniques.

About You

Key Requirements:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with substantial design experience in the water and wastewater sector.
• Chartered Engineer status is essential.
• Demonstrable experience in delivering projects for water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a proactive and entrepreneurial approach.
• Technical expertise in civil engineering design, with a focus on quality and innovation.
