Delivery Business Lead

My client is looking to bring in a Delivery Business Lead to the business and objectives will include:

* Successfully lead and deliver a subservice portfolio of programmes and projects.

* Effectively lead a team of project managers and engineers, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver the assigned projects to time and budget, expediting design and administering the contracts efficiently and effectively.

* Continually challenge and innovate to improve performance and drive continuous improvement of this integrated internal project and programme management team and contract partners.

* Provide robust leadership to enable delivery and construction of multiple projects equating up to circa £500 million across the AMP, as well as nurturing the development of your team and their success.

Key Accountabilities:

* Collaborate with internal business area teams and third parties to ensure key deliverables are met within set perimeters of time, cost, quality, and health and safety expectations.

* Ensure programmes are delivered in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, balancing cost, time and ensuring quality, whilst building and nurturing a highly engaged, high performing team.

* Work in conjunction with their internal Programme Management Office and Commercial teams to plan and develop the delivery of a rolling 2+ year programme of work to enable the supply chain to achieve targeted capital efficiency targets, whilst ensuring sustainable relationships with these supply chain partners.

* Develop and manage a strategic resource plan to ensure that essential skills, experience and competence is recruited, developed and retained in your team ahead of future needs. Ensure necessary technical and leadership capabilities within the team are built and retained whilst actively managing performance.

* Drive better engineering risk decisions through a thorough and robust risk management process; designing-out risk and making informed investment decisions based on depth of risk awareness.

* Manage operating costs associated with staff, external providers and enabling functions within authorised budgets.

* Lead a culture of curiosity and challenge within your team to continually identify areas for improvement and maximise the opportunities to innovate and drive further efficiency and effectiveness to meet our ambitious goals for the environment and society.

* Drive and embed a safety-first mindset across both internal and supplier teams to improve the safety of employees, external partners, customers and the wider public and businesses impacted by our operations.

* Direct and lead the team to always consider and engage customers and stakeholders throughout the process to successfully balance delivering the best solutions for their needs with cost, quality and time considerations.

Experience:

In order to succeed in this role it is expected that you will have:

* A proven track record of successfully managing the delivery of large, complex multi-disciplinary projects .

* Experience of working collaboratively with contract partners and internal and external stakeholders across a large geographical area.

* A proven track record in developing highly capable, high performing teams.

* A proven track record of operating in an asset intensive industry where programme activity, innovation and process are a core feature of the business.

* A proven portfolio of work delivering strong financial and operational success.

Qualifications:

* Preferred: Chartered Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, ICA , Telecommunications, Environmental Engineer, similar relevant professional accreditation

* Preferred: Experience of working in a regulated environment. Experience of the Water, Utilities or Infrastructure industries would be advantageous but is not essential

* Essential: Experience in NEC contract and project management methodologies

* Essential: Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area

* Essential: Full UK driving license
