Junior Project Planner / Junior QS

My Client, a leading consultancy working in the HV Power Transmission Sector based in Derby, is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join their team as a Junior Project Planner / Junior Quantity Surveyor / Project Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with industry experts, including Project Managers, GIS Specialists, Engineers, and Town Planners, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

The Role:

As a Junior Project Planner / QS, you will play a key role in managing project programmes, coordinating resources, and supporting financial reporting. You’ll be responsible for:

– Assisting the Senior Project Manager in driving project delivery on time and within budget.

– Developing and managing project resource and programme plans.

– Supporting the preparation of project programmes, cost reports, and financial documentation.

– Collaborating with various departments, external agencies, and authorities to support project progress.

– Monitoring project hours, costs, contracts, and subcontracts, ensuring compliance and quality standards.

– Coordinating site surveys, planning access, and managing resources.

– Supporting the Senior Project Managers with reporting and other duties as required.

What We’re Looking For:

– A relevant degree (a STEM background is a plus) or equivalent industry experience.

– Knowledge of NEC contracts, MS Project, or Primavera P6 would be advantageous.

– Experience or interest in Development Consent Orders, linear infrastructure planning, or OHL cable or substation projects.
