Job Details:
Our client is seeking an experienced Highway Engineer to join a top consultancy and contribute to their thriving Newcastle team. This role is best suited for someone in a Principal Engineer position or someone who is working towards reaching that level.
Key Responsibilities:
- As the leader of technical delivery for highway engineering projects and key technical input for multi-disciplinary projects, you will manage project delivery and provide technical expertise.
- You will also act as a Technical Discipline Lead or Technical Reviewer for complex projects, maintain excellent client relationships, and develop new client opportunities.
- In addition, you will oversee a team of senior engineers, engineers, technicians, and apprentices, mentoring and supporting Early Careers development.
- Your responsibilities will include supervising global teams to deliver complex schemes, supporting the Transportation business in winning work by acting as Bid Manager, leading, and preparing bids, and representing the business at networking events to establish, maintain, and develop relationships with existing and prospective internal and external clients.
Essential Requirements:
- The ideal candidate for this position will have a BEng, MEng or MSc Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- They should also have IEng or CEng accreditation with a relevant professional institution and at least 5 years of post-professional qualification experience.
- The candidate should have extensive experience working with key clients, including Local Authorities, National Highways, Developers, and/or major Contractors. Additionally, the candidate should have demonstrated experience managing project delivery for multi-disciplinary highways schemes, as well as extensive knowledge of highways related technical standards.
- Furthermore, the candidate should have a proven track record in people management and staff mentoring.
