An exciting opportunity has arisen for Project Buyer based in Hatfield or Cambridge. The Project Buyer will report directly to the Regional Procurement Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various sourcing activities including materials and sub-contractors, they will work cross-functionally with different teams within Digital Integration and Systems.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Regional Procurement Manager in tendering and on-boarding of new suppliers
- Monitor sub-contractor and supplier performance and develop supplier performance initiatives
- Resolution of delivery problems that are escalated and continuously monitor supplier delivery performance
- Communicate with suppliers, the project team, and supply chain team as necessary, ensuring the control of accurate information and systems
- Contribute to maintaining project margin or achieving project savings
- Experience in procurement and supplier management in a project or engineering environment
- Experience using SAP systems and processes
- Good negotiation and communication skills
- CIPS qualification, or working towards this
- Strong commercial awareness
