Project Manager (Water Utilities)

Salary: £50-65k + Benefits (experience dependent)
Location: UK Wide Locations (Surrey, Cheshire, Tyne and Wear, Scotland, Bristol)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Hybrid Working

About the Role
My clients are looking for Project Managers to join their Water Services team, helping manage and deliver a variety of water industry projects, from infrastructure development to water treatment. You’ll have the flexibility to work from home, the office, or a mix of both. Your main responsibility will be to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client’s specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Plan, execute, monitor, and control projects with budgets up to £500k.
  • Change Management: Handle and manage any project scope, cost, or timeline changes.
  • Financial Performance: Ensure projects meet or exceed financial expectations.
  • Contract Management: Oversee contracts under framework agreements or standalone contracts.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate technical and commercial risks during the sales process.
  • Proposals & Costing: Prepare and review project proposals and costings.
  • Quality & Innovation: Maintain compliance with quality standards and encourage innovation to improve project delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Guide and support project teams, ensuring effective coordination and delivery.
  • Client Interaction: Organise and lead client meetings, maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Support: Balance multiple projects and assist team members as needed.
  • Line Management: Oversee and mentor junior Project Managers.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Professional qualification in Project Management or an engineering discipline.
  • Degree in a STEM or Geography subject.
  • Experience in managing projects, ideally in the water industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage small project teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent communication skills for working with clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
