Senior/Principal Bridge Engineer

The Role

Our client has several new contract requirements for Senior or Principal Engineers to join their Bridges and Civils team across the UK. The role will be full-time (40 hours).

Projects

• Major design of road bridges schemes
• Network Rail – both design and assessment projects
• Local authority schemes

Required experience

• BEng / MEng or MSc degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Ideally Chartered status and membership of the ICE or IStructE (or suitable equivalent experience).
• Proven knowledge and experience of bridge design, maintenance and assessment.
• Ideally hold experience of grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software packages such as LUSAS, MIDAS, Superstress and/or Autodesk Structural Bridge Design

• Ability to oversee the production of and review high quality design documentation including sketches, drawings, calculations, reports and specifications
• Experience of working with key clients such as Network Rail, Local Authorities, Highways England and major Contractors.
• Good understanding of relevant design standards (e.g. DMRB, TSRGD, MCHW, Eurocodes and those of Highways England and Manual for Streets).

Duration:

6 months initially (then with potential to extend).

Location:

A mixure of home/office working (when appropriate). Candidates must be based in the UK.
