Job description

Our client is recruiting environmental consultants/EIA Practitioners for key roles in their growing multi-disciplinary Environmental Services team. Our client is a world-leader in Environmental and Infrastructure projects in the Water and Flood Risk Management sector delivering exciting projects for clients including the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, Local Authorities, and Water Utility Companies. Their team also works on other large infrastructure projects across sectors such as transport and renewable power.

The roles would be preferably based close to our clients’ offices in Redhill, Bradford on Avon, Swansea or Chester but they are open to candidates from across the country. They have a number of roles available; either to be focused on specific sectors, e.g. their current flood risk management framework for Natural Resources Wales, or to support a wider portfolio of project sectors. They will be happy to discuss what would fit best with your career aspirations and interests.

Our client is a close team and have an active Environmental Community of Practice and pride themselves on being at the forefront of environmental best practice and innovation, including digital EIA. Their environmental scientists are empowered to work closely with their multi-disciplinary teams and shape projects to deliver smarter and more sustainable solutions. You will also benefit from technical, leadership and H&S training and paid membership of two professional institutions. Our client holds the IEMA EIA Quality Mark which is a benchmark of their high standards in EIA delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) including SEA, feasibility, screening/scoping, and Environmental Statement chapters
  • Leading Environmental support on a wide range of project sectors.
  • Managing consenting applications such as planning, Development Consent Orders, Transport and Works Order and Environmental Permits
  • Supporting construction stage delivery
  • Liaising with project teams, clients, stakeholders and the public
  • Supporting business development and tenders
  • Providing a mentoring/supervisory role to more junior members of our team.

Qualifications/Requirements

The role is suitable for an Environmental professional with full professional membership (such as IEMA, IES or CIWEM). You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:

  • An environmental related degree
  • Chartered with a relevant institute and/or be a Registered EIA Practitioner with IEMA
  • A sound understanding of EIA
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Enjoy innovation and embracing advances in digital technology
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience of working in a consultancy environment is an advantage.
