£45,000-£60,000 | BNEC | Tier 2 Subcontractor

An established Tier 2 infrastructure subcontractor is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting major rail and civil engineering works at BNEC.

This is a great opportunity for a commercially driven QS looking to develop their experience within a major infrastructure environment, with exposure to subcontract management, commercial reporting, valuations, variations and final accounts.

The Role

• Manage commercial aspects of rail and civil engineering packages.
• Manage subcontractor and supply chain accounts.
• Handle valuations, applications for payment, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor costs, budgets, forecasts and cash flow.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Support procurement and package management.
• Ensure contractual notices and commercial correspondence are managed effectively.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the wider commercial team.
• Support the resolution of contractual and commercial issues.

About You

We’re looking for a QS with:

• Experience within rail, civils or major infrastructure.
• Ideally, experience working for a Tier 2 or specialist subcontractor.
• Good knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Experience managing subcontract packages through to final account.
• Strong understanding of valuations, variations, applications for payment and cost reporting.
• Good commercial, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying or Construction qualification is desirable.

The Opportunity

£45,000-£60,000 depending on experience, with the opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects and develop your commercial career within an established Tier 2 environment.
