Senior Planner – Bristol

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading engineering and project management consultancy, supporting the delivery of major infrastructure programmes from their Bristol office.

The role will sit within an established Project Controls team and will require a strong technical planning background, with particular experience in Primavera P6, Earned Value Management (EVM), integrated scheduling and NEC contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and manage complex project programmes using Primavera P6

  • Lead the integration of schedules across multiple projects, disciplines, contractors and workstreams

  • Ensure dependencies, interfaces and key milestones are accurately reflected within the integrated programme

  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to measure and report project performance

  • Undertake critical path, schedule variance and performance analysis

  • Manage baselines, progress updates, forecasting and look-ahead programmes

  • Support NEC contract management, including programme requirements, change and assessment of schedule impacts

  • Identify programme risks, delays and opportunities and develop appropriate mitigation strategies

  • Produce clear schedule, EVM and project controls reporting for senior stakeholders

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial Managers and wider Project Controls teams

Experience Required

  • Strong experience as a Senior Planner / Senior Planning Engineer on major infrastructure programmes

  • Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6

  • Strong practical experience of Earned Value Management (EVM)

  • Proven experience of schedule integration across complex multidisciplinary programmes

  • Good working knowledge of NEC contracts, ideally NEC3 and/or NEC4

  • Strong understanding of baselining, critical path analysis, forecasting and change control

  • Previous experience within sectors such as rail, nuclear, defence, energy, water or major infrastructure

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
