I am currently working with a leading rail client working on some exciting frameworks in Northern Ireland. Having secured work for the next 5 years in the region, and more awards expected in the Ireland region, they are looking to add to their team.

Ideally you’d live locally to Belfast. This role will offer hybrid working, with 3 days working in the office, in Belfast and 2 days working from home.

As a Commercial Manager, you will lead the project team commercially and lead the project or framework with any contractual issues or changes along the way. You will provide contract support and lead a team of Quantity Surveyors on the project.

Role and responsibilities:

Lead and support negotiations with the client on contractual issues
Procurement of plant, material and equipment
Complete CVRs on a monthly basis
Manage labour and subcontractors
Application of payments
Attend project meetings with the project team, sub contractors, client and other stakeholders

Candidate requirements

Absolutely imperative that you have strong experience working on NEC contracts previously.
Experience managing multi-million pound contracts and dealing with clients directly
Experience in contractual changes and liaising with the client as required
Extensive background in multi-disciplinary environments

Currently assisting a key client looking for a freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a large Infrastructure scheme in Cambridgeshire.

You would be working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on this existing scheme, part of a high performing commercial team.
You’ll need to have a demonstrable experience working on UK infrastructure projects, ideally with an understanding of the civil engineering side of the industry, with either Contractor or Client sided companies.

Responsible for the swift set up of contracts to ensure stakeholders have access to key information as soon as possible.
Support the rest of the commercial team with advice and guidance, and provide training and coaching as required.

Recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a large specialist contractor with a specific need for someone to join the Data Centre part of the business.

The ideal Candidate would be well versed in NEC contracts, and have significant experience working on large data centres in the UK or Europe. Experience in procurement through to final accounts of these projects would be an advantage.

This would be an ongoing role, moving from one project to another in the region, working within a specific team that specialise in this work. It will require you on site 5 days a week.

You will be based out of project offices near South Milford, Leeds however this role will require travelling across several sites between Leeds and York. You will need to drive, have a car and a full UK Driving licence. Due to the location of some of the sites, driving will be the most convenient mode of transport. With another 4 years left on the project, this opportunity provides scope for growth, training and development with the ability to progress over the years to come.

This is a permanent position, based on site Monday to Friday. Unfortunately due to the nature of the role, requiring frequent travel, hybrid working is not available.

As a commercial assistant in this busy role, you will provide administrative support to the commercial team of the project and occasionally support the widen project delivery team.

Define improvement plans with Project Manager /respective Sub-System if applicable & Component teams – Follow-up the progress and ensure the progress is compliant with Project objectives.
Co-Validates with Project Manager /Sub-System Manager each gap vs CPR0 (deviation sheet & bridge approval process).

Project Execution: for Project specific products (notably on-board cabinets, trackside shelters …), the PMM:

Check completeness and on time availability of the detailed design (under PrEM responsibility).
Define industrial scheme and related make or buy strategy.
Coordinate and supervises the Industrial Operations that are in charge of the following tasks: supervision of material procurement, products manufacturing and testing, logistic & shipment.
Ensure that necessary inputs data allowing respect of QCD commitment are consistently and timely made available by other project contributors (such as BoM, BoQ, requirements specification, …). In particular monitor that development and Industrialization of new/modified generic Products (under PIM responsibility) used on the project is coherent with Project Industrial schedule and coordinates mitigation plan when needed.
Ensure ePMFU deployment for the Project throughout each Sub-System if applicable & Component (together with the respective “métiers” contributing to populate it). Build a general overview for the Project Manager.
During project warranty, coordinate the implementation of any repairs and retrofit plan needed for Material part of the industrial work package.

Performance measurements:

Quality: DFQ / Project Industrial Review milestones following project schedule, Go FAI On-Time.
Cost: External & Internal material cost monitoring including cost reduction versus budget).
Cost: Project Hard Inventory. Cash in – cash out curve.

Delivery: Go Order On-Time and on time material deliveries to the project, No Missing parts

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Currently assisting a key client looking for a freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor on a short term basis ideally someone able to start next week.

This is a Rail project in its final throws, looking for some commercial support to price up the remaining CE’s and close out the appropriate sub contractor accounts.

You’ll need to have a demonstrable experience working on UK rail projects, for the contractor and using NEC contracts.
After a couple of days on site initially the rest of the work will be mostly remote WFH.
