Advance 2023 Rewind

As 2023 comes to an end, it is a great chance to reflect on some of the amazing achievements that took place this year.

New Office

We started the year off big by bidding farewell to our old Guildford office and embracing the exciting change of moving to Wonersh House. This new space has been tailored to meet our specifications providing an ideal setting for our expanding head office team. The new office serves as a base for our company conferences and plays a key role in cultivating a family feel atmosphere within our workplace.

As we close the chapter on our first year in the new offices, the excitement for what lies ahead is evident. Our office is not just a destination it’s a launchpad for innovation, growth, and continued success in the dynamic world of recruitment.

Conferences

To foster a close company culture, we have quarterly conferences that unite our three offices.

This year our Kick Off Conference in April was held in the Guildford office, featuring a dynamic team event “The Airship Challenge”, employees were grouped into small teams encouraging collaboration among colleagues who don’t typically cross paths. This event showed great teamwork, setting a vibrant tone for the year ahead.

In the summer, we visited our London office, where we took the opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements of our team members, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the company’s growth and success.

In October, we celebrated our halfway conference, and our London and South Coast teams joined remotely via Teams. This was a great opportunity to celebrate the successes of Quarter 2, share updates, and get an insight into what was in store for Quarter 3.

New Starters 2023

In alignment with our ongoing commitment to strategic expansion. We are pleased to announce the addition of 11 new members of staff this year. We saw new team members joining various departments across the company.   

In our business services team, we are pleased to introduce: Emilie Bass – Employee Engagement Coordinator, Olivia Close – Marketing Executive, Emilia Perrin – Compliance Coordinator, Charlotte Tunstall – Compliance Coordinator and Esta Stollard-Taylor – Payroll Supervisor.

To Our Guildford-based team Rail team, we welcomed Lily Kaye – Recruitment Resourcer, George More – Recruitment Resourcer, and Jo Tancrel – Sales Support Administrator. ­­

In London, we saw Sissy and Shontal join the rail and infrastructure team. In South Coast, Ariadna joined the water and infrastructure team.

Charity Fundraising

After an extraordinary year of charity events, it gives us great joy to reveal that we have raised a staggering £18,855 for charitable causes.

Three Peaks by Rail

To start our year of amazing fundraising events, Louise, Jake, Sam, and Tom overcame a challenging 48 hours, demonstrating incredible determination and teamwork to complete the 3 mountain hikes.

They raised an amazing £4,000 for Railway Children, who support vulnerable children who live on the streets.

Advance TRS Golf Day for Rail Aid 2023

In September we hosted our annual golf day at Celtic Manor in support of Rail Aid. The day was a great success, with an outstanding £14,000 raised. When combined with previous totals from the two previous events. We are thrilled to announce a total of £57,395 raised by this trilogy of Golf Day events.

The day kicked off with a briefing, followed by 18 holes of golf In the sunny weather. After all the golf excitement, attendees gathered for a three-course dinner, and a talk from our guest speaker, Billy Foster. The celebrations continued with the golf awards, prize giving, and a charity auction.

SME Surrey Business Awards

This November we are delighted to announce we were awarded silver in the category of Business of the Year (less than 50 employees). This award is a testament to the hard work of each team member here at Advance TRS.
