National Payroll Week is a week of appreciating the dedicated teams behind payroll and the vital role they play in the smooth operations of the business. But what do the payroll team do exactly?
Let’s go behind the scenes and delve into the intricacies of each of the Advance TRS payroll teams’ roles and the services that they offer.
What payroll services do Advance TRS offer?
Our team often refers to themselves as like ‘2 sides of the same coin’ – there is the payroll side and then the billing (invoicing) side, with both functions relying on each other to work.
The Advance TRS payroll team take care of the payroll for both Advance TRS and our sister company CITILINE – from contractor onboarding to looking after client accounts and credit control.
Each team member plays an important role in making this as seamless as possible for candidates, contractors and clients. So, what roles do each of our payroll team members play?
Esta Stollard-Taylor, Payroll Executive
Responsible for processing weekly payroll for contractors, Esta ensures payments are accurately made to their preferred method (limited company, umbrella company, or directly). Esta plays a crucial role in onboarding new contractors, ensuring they have everything they need for timely and efficient payment processing. When it comes to any payment-related queries, Esta is the person to go to! Her main focus is providing the most seamless, positive and best experience to contractors from start to finish of their assignments.
Michelle Marsh, Accounts & Credit Control Manager
Often referred to by the team as PAC MAN (Payroll, Accounts, Credit Control Manager), Michelle acts as a crucial intermediary between payroll, accounts and credit control. With extensive knowledge of the accounting systems used, Michelle provides invaluable support and expertise to the team and is currently responsible for processing payments for CILTILINE’s contractors, whilst training Jade, our new Payroll Supervisor to take over in the coming months. She also processes various reports that are essential for the overall operations of the business.

Lastly, our newest member of the Advance TRS payroll team, Jade, who is currently undertaking training with Michelle to take over the payroll processing and invoicing of both CITILINE and Advance TRS. Jade’s focus will be on providing our clients with an excellent experience with our accounts team.
