Section Engineer – Major Civils / Earthworks

Location: Middlesbrough
Contract: 6 Month Rolling
Salary/Rate: Up to £500 p/d Inside IR35

We’re looking for an experienced Section Engineer to join a major infrastructure project, supporting the delivery of civils and earthworks packages.

This is a great opportunity for a Section Engineer with strong setting out and major infrastructure experience to take on a key role within a busy delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Senior Project Team and Sub Agent with the delivery of the works.

• Carry out complex setting out and surveying, maintaining site control and construction tolerances.

• Manage engineering records, site diaries, drawings and setting-out information.

• Assist with ITPs, QA documentation, inspections, NCRs and Technical Queries.

• Prepare RAMS, Temporary Works Briefs and Permits where required.

• Support the management of labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.

• Monitor progress against the programme, KPIs and budget.

• Identify additional works and support commercial reporting.

• Communicate programme targets and engineering requirements to the site team.

About You:

• Experience as a Section Engineer, Site Engineer or similar on major civils/infrastructure projects.

• Strong earthworks and setting-out experience.

• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND, ONC or degree).

• Valid CSCS card.

• Good understanding of quality, health & safety and construction specifications.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with site teams and subcontractors.

• BIM experience is desirable.

• Willingness to work weekends/night shifts when required.
