Job Role: Mechanical Supervisor

Salary / Rate: £45,000 – £55,000 + Competitive benefits package

Location: Sussex

As a Mechanical Site Supervisor, you will assist the site manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners and visitors ensuring work is completed to the highest of standards, covering the Southern Water Framework.

About the Role:

  • Ensure that all relevant health and safety documents are correctly recorded.
  • Check that all relevant documents adequately describe the work to be carried out.
  • Supervise work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with method statements and work Instructions from the project manager.
  • Record the progress of works on record drawings or other suitable means when required.
  • Inspect and record incoming materials and their documentation when required.
  • Record the location of materials within the works where traceability is required.
  • Record all non-conformance and improvement opportunities and agree action with the person in charge of the works.
  • Recognise the health and safety considerations are central to all tasks and contribute to ensure safe working environments for all.
  • Actively support the Site Manager to maintain and enforce safety standards as required by statute and in accordance with the companies Safety Policies.

About you:

If you have experience of supervising the installation of process packages and field pipework in an industrial process environment (if you’ve done this in water and wastewater then even better!) then I want to hear from you. Obviously, you’ll have the usual good stuff such as an HNC in Mechanical Engineering, CSCS and SSSTS backed up with sound knowledge of Health, Safety procedures in addition to be able to read mechanical drawings and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID’s.   • Work with the team to share expert geotechnical knowledge with our clients civil design team and give ongoing project support as needed.

My Client a design and build contractor to the UK water sector have an immediate need for a civil structural design engineer to join them on a contract basis outside IR35 for a period of 6 months

This immediate requirement is for a senior engineer to develop a design scheme for a sludge retaining wall/ bund around an existing waste water treatment plant. the Wall is likely to be between 1-1.5m tall and across two sections of the existing treatment works site around a perimeter of C400m. the scope of the scheme is to provide protection to the site and retain sludge on site in the event of a failure within the main sludge holding tank and existing treatment plant infrastructure
