If so, my client is seeking to recruit an experienced individual to help successfully deliver a range of water projects; and to assist with new framework bids, maintaining existing agreements which will include all commercial requirements such as annual rate uplift calculations and attendance at framework review meetings.

About the Role:

  • As a managing quantity surveyor you are expected to provide commercial support to the delivery teams. This will include commercial management at a framework level including a wide variety of different and complex contract types. The role would need to manage tight deadlines to meet both internal and external reporting periods.
  • Review and negotiate awarded contracts to ensure a commercially beneficial position to the business.
  • Responsible for the accurate and on time compilation of reporting to meet strict monthly deadlines. These reports feed into a wider batch of reporting completed across the business and you will be expected to provide support and feedback to both the delivery teams and management where required.
  • Responsible for invoicing your own portfolio of projects in line with both on-site progress and contractual requirements, whilst monitoring the overall cost position and ensuring it is maintained at a positive level.

  3. Lead the specification and acceptance of the renewal requirements criteria for E&P engineering works including design approval and any specific requirements for acceptance of the equipment into maintenance.

Following handover to delivery, support the development and implementation of projects to confirm the renewals requirements are correctly interpreted, that any changes in scope are agreed, the agreed deliverables in the asset management plan are delivered and that the scheme delivers the project remit.
  5. Lead the provision of E&P engineering input to enhancement projects such that they are specified and accepted in accordance with company asset policies and standards.
  6. Identify issues of national significance and elevate to the national team. Support the development and review of national standards relating to renewals and enhancements.
  7. Check that accurate and comprehensive records relating to the existence, configuration and modification history of E&P engineering assets are maintained and that they accurately reflect their current ‘as built’ status.
  8. Participate in investigations of incidents as required.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Contribute to the development of route strategies and the prioritised workbank.   5. Lead the provision of E&P engineering input to enhancement projects such that they are specified and accepted in accordance with company asset policies and standards.
  6. Identify issues of national significance and elevate to the national team. Support the development and review of national standards relating to renewals and enhancements.
  7. Check that accurate and comprehensive records relating to the existence, configuration and modification history of E&P engineering assets are maintained and that they accurately reflect their current ‘as built’ status.
  8. Participate in investigations of incidents as required.
  9. Lead and participate in engineering verification activities in support of the verification programme.
  10. Contribute to the development and maintenance of route asset management plans.
  11. Carry out asset condition inspections that will inform the E&P asset condition database and the renewals work bank

  • Contribute to the development of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), as well as Single Line Electrical Diagrams (SLD’s).
  • Liaising with internal design team in relation to manufacturer and supplier information to support the development of models, drawings, and details.
  • Follow appropriate procedures for issue of drawings and models in either native or rendition format by e-mail and/or Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Supporting Senior staff in the filing of all incoming and outgoing drawings, models and information in accordance with our clients UK Water procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider design team and the Senior BIM Coordinator on projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • GCSE or equivalent in at least five subjects, including Maths and English at Grade 9-4 (A*-C) (essential)
  • Good IT skills (essential)
