We’re looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support the construction phase of a major infrastructure project. The role involves working as part of a small team, providing technical guidance, and ensuring design intent is correctly applied on site. A regular presence at the project’s site offices is required (3 days per week). Site offices are located around Coleshill and Kenilworth.

Key Responsibilities

Geotechnical construction phase support, coordinating with technical leads and supporting junior staff.
Review Inspection and Test Plans, witness selected site tests, and maintain clear, auditable records.
Manage responses to site queries, field change requests, and non conformance reports, including internal assurance steps.
Interpret instrumentation and monitoring data and recommend mitigation actions when needed.
Carry out geological inspections, earthworks logging, and other site-based geotechnical assessments.
Contribute to concise geotechnical feedback reports and help junior engineers develop their technical skills.

Ensuring the relevant consents are progressed and approved, liaising with the Consent and Engagement teams and the various third-party consenting bodies as required.
Tracking and reviewing design documentation, and coordinating the review of documentation with the relevant teams
Ensuring that design accommodates designing for maintenance and health, safety and welfare during construction and in-use (Operation and Maintenance etc).
Ensure that design change is managed, monitored and the implications (including derogations/departures) are assessed and authorised, as appropriate.
Ensure that design risks are recorded, communicated and mitigated wherever possible.
Ensure the completion of constructability reviews.
Identify and implement opportunities for optimization of project programme.
