Kent / South East | Up to £75,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits | Permanent

Join a long-term rail infrastructure programme with genuine career stability.

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge? We’re working with a leading rail infrastructure contractor seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their established commercial team, supporting a major programme of maintenance and renewals across the South East.

This is an opportunity to join a secure, long-term framework where you’ll play a key role in managing commercial performance while working alongside experienced operational and commercial professionals.

Why You’ll Want This Role

  • Salary up to £75,000
  • Car allowance
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare
  • Hybrid working (minimum three days in the office)
  • Long-term, secure framework with a healthy pipeline of work
  • Supportive and collaborative commercial team
  • Excellent career progression with a respected rail contractor

The Opportunity

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of commercial and cost management across a busy portfolio of rail infrastructure projects.

Rather than focusing on claims or dispute resolution, this role centres on commercial performance, forecasting, budgeting and cost control-ideal for someone who enjoys analysing project performance, influencing delivery teams and driving commercial success.

You’ll work closely with operational teams to ensure projects remain commercially on track while providing accurate reporting and valuable commercial insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs across a live programme of rail infrastructure works
  • Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates
  • Monitor budgets and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance
  • Assess commercial risk and cost escalation
  • Work closely with operational teams to gather accurate project information
  • Challenge where necessary to ensure robust commercial control
  • Support decision-making through clear reporting and financial analysis
  • Build strong relationships across commercial and delivery teams

What We’re Looking For

You’ll already be operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor-or be an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step-with experience in rail, infrastructure or major construction projects.

You’ll ideally have:

  • 5-10 years’ Quantity Surveying or commercial experience
  • Strong cost management, forecasting and budgeting skills
  • Experience working under NEC contracts
  • Knowledge of commercial processes within construction or infrastructure
  • Experience within rail infrastructure (or a similar major projects environment)
  • Confidence to challenge and influence operational teams
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach

About You

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Comfortable working with large volumes of commercial data, you’ll enjoy turning numbers into meaningful insight while maintaining strong relationships with project teams.

If you’re commercially astute, enjoy collaborating with others and want to contribute to the successful delivery of critical UK infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you.
