MEP Senior Quantity Surveyor

The Role

Are you a commercially sharp Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in MEP subcontracting?

We are recruiting for a Tier 1/Specialist M&E contractor to take commercial ownership of a critical £70m infrastructure package, covering complex MEP works across shafts and portal buildings in West London.

This isn’t a hands-off monitoring role – you will be embedded in the project, driving commercial performance, managing risk and opportunity under NEC3/NEC4, and ensuring maximum entitlement across major variations and change management.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial Leadership: Full commercial accountability for a £70m major MEP infrastructure package.

• Contract & Change Management: Proactively identify, manage, and submit compensation events, payment applications, and variations under NEC contracts.

• Subcontract Management: Lead sub-contractor accounts from procurement through to final account settlements.

• Risk & Opportunity: Work directly with operational teams to identify commercial risks early and maximise project margin.

• Reporting & Forecasting: Deliver precise commercial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and accurate final account negotiations with the client.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Criteria:

• Proven MEP/M&E Experience: Solid track record operating as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS within an M&E or MEP environment.

• Contractor Background: Direct experience working for main contractors or Tier 1 MEP sub-contractors. Note: Purely client-side candidates will not be considered.

• Contractual Strength: Practical working knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contract frameworks.

• Qualifications: Degree, HNC, or equivalent industry experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management.

Desirable:

• Prior experience delivering packages on mega-infrastructure projects.
