Job Role: Senior Revit Technician

Rate: £40-45p/h inside IR35

Location: Remote working

Duration: 12-month contract

Our client is looking for a talented and motivated Revit Technician to join their multi-disciplinary design team, as part of a growing and dynamic department providing detailed designs for water related projects in the UK.

About the role:

By working on landmark projects and schemes of all shapes and sizes to help their clients tackle climate change and improve the UK’s nature water resource, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical and professional expertise. You will learn from experienced industry professionals who share a passion for working together with their customers to deliver high quality projects.

You will:

  • Creating 3D models in Revit and as required AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Navisworks, including reviewing project set ups and management of models.
  • Working in tandem with multi-disciplinary Engineers to provide solutions to our client’s complex challenges.
  • Actively contribute to the technical success of projects as a team.
  • Ensuring BIM standards and quality of modelled information meets our clients requirements.
  • Working within a team environment under the supervision of senior colleagues.
  • Taking responsibility for the quality of BIM models and any outputs produced.

About you:

  • Proven experience in Revit, with desirable experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D Plant 3D and Navisworks.
  • Knowledge and experience working in Common Data Environments (CDE’s), such as BIM360 and ACC.
  • Proven experience in the preparation of Revit models including output documentation such as Naviswork Models and Annotated 2D Detailed Design Plans.
  • Proven experience of federating models from 3rd party suppliers and other project stakeholders.
  • Previous water industry experience

They are expanding their Water team and are delivering high-profile AMP8 and long-term AMP9 programmes across the UK. The Role

As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll lead the technical delivery of complex water and wastewater projects, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable, innovative solutions for major UK water clients.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading mechanical design on water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects
  • Acting as Design Lead on multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Developing innovative, cost-effective technical solutions
  • Building strong relationships with clients and delivery partners
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers
  • Ensuring projects are delivered to the highest quality, safety and environmental standards

About You

You’ll ideally have:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Chartered Engineer status (IMechE, IET, CIWEM or equivalent)
  • Strong experience delivering mechanical design within the water sector
  • Experience working on design & build projects using digital design tools
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience delivering projects from feasibility through to detailed design

You’ll lead the mechanical design of clean water and wastewater projects, producing high-quality engineering solutions while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver mechanical design solutions for water and wastewater projects
* Produce calculations, reports, specifications and design drawings
* Lead and review work from junior engineers and CAD technicians
* Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers and subcontract design teams
* Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety requirements and client expectations
* Support project planning, estimating and technical decision-making

About You:

* 10+ years’ mechanical design experience within the UK water sector
* Strong hydraulic design expertise
* Experience with clean water and/or wastewater projects
* Knowledge of electrical and control systems is advantageous
* Degree or HND qualified
* Working towards or already achieved Chartership
