My client is offering an exciting opportunity to join their dynamic team as a Principal Engineer in Electrical Engineering. As we strive towards achieving Net Zero, they are seeking individuals who are passionate about engineering and dedicated to making a difference.

Role Overview:

As a Principal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in my clients Electrical Engineering team, working on projects across the Transmission and Distribution sectors in the UK. You will be responsible for providing technical leadership, ensuring the quality assurance of projects, and fostering strong client relationships.

What You’ll Be Doing:

– Leading FEED and Detail Design workstreams for esteemed clients such as National Grid and SSEN-Transmission.

– Ensuring the delivery of high-quality FEED, Detailed Design, and bids.

– Acting as a BP141/equivalent assurance engineer and reviewing HV plant aspects of projects.

– Coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

– Managing tender packages and attending design and hazard review meetings.

– Demonstrating strong communication and teamworking skills while prioritising customer needs.

What You Need:

– Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

– Chartered Engineer status through the IET, or working towards it.

– Proven experience in leadership roles within the engineering sector.

– Expertise in delivering Front-End Engineering and Detailed Design of EHV substation projects.

– Experience working with transmission system owners/operators or design consultancies.

– BP141/TP141 HV Substation qualification or equivalent.

– Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

– Flexibility to travel to client sites when required.

– Right to work in the UK.
