An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Planner to work with a growing Principal Contractor. The Project Planner will report to the Planning Manager working closely with a Senior Planner to deliver reports in a timely manner for a major highways scheme.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, build and update programmes for multiple projects across a range of disciplines.
  • Work with the estimators and delivery team to produce programmes that are commercially attractive to the client.
  • Help the team to identify and evaluate the risks within the project, not only with regards to planning, but the whole project.
  • Develop relationships with teams to ensure that we share resources, innovation, and process to deliver efficiently as one.
  • Identify better and more efficient ways of achieving the current outcomes.
  • Put HSQE and wellbeing at the heart of decision making.

Skills & Expertise

  • Engineering knowledge with relevant experience in suitable disciplines (such as Structures, Construction, Geotechnical, earthworks, highways)
  • An excellent knowledge developed over time in applying planning software to create clear, comprehensible, and realistic programmes.
  • The ability to plan from first principles.
  • Good knowledge of planning software (such as MS-Project, Asta Powerproject or P6 Primavera).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good level of NEC3 knowledge, and knowledge of how it should be applied to the contract programme.
  • Understanding of construction design.

Qualifications

  • A related degree, diploma, or vocational qualification, or equivalent demonstrable experience in Civil Engineering.
  • Previous experience with a Principal contracting group operating in civil engineering, highways, or earthworks.
