My client, a global professional services leader in the energy, water, and infrastructure sectors, is delivering a major High Voltage Substation project in Ireland. This substation is being constructed alongside a new energy centre that will support the growing demand from the data centre industry.
They now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Site Resident Engineer to join the team and oversee the delivery of this high-profile project over the next 12-17 months.
The Role
As Civil Site Resident Engineer, you will act as the Owner’s Engineer on-site, ensuring engineering excellence, quality, and compliance throughout construction. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, liaising with contractors, designers, and suppliers to drive successful delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing civil and structural works during the construction phase.
- Reviewing designs, documentation, and contractor deliverables.
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Representing my client’s values and maintaining strong relationships with the end client.
About You
You’ll be an experienced civil engineer with a strong background in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects and a proven track record in site-based roles.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
- 10+ years’ experience in industrial civil installations or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of HSE standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering Owner’s Engineer services.
- Exposure to multi-million-pound infrastructure projects.
- Experience in power generation or substation projects.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and technical standards.
- Right to work in Ireland (UK, Irish or EU passport).
