Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Planner to support the delivery of major National Grid infrastructure projects in Suffolk. This is a key role within a high-performing project controls team, responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining integrated project schedules across complex civil engineering works.
You will play a critical role in ensuring programme certainty, supporting commercial outcomes, and providing clear, data-driven insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project programmes across multiple workstreams (civils, utilities, and infrastructure works)

Produce and manage fully resourced and cost-loaded schedules using industry-standard planning tools (e.g. Primavera P6)

Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) processes, including performance measurement and reporting

Analyse programme performance, identify risks/opportunities, and provide mitigation strategies

Lead on programme integration, ensuring alignment across contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders

Support the commercial team with NEC contract programme requirements, including early warnings and compensation events

Conduct critical path analysis, schedule risk analysis, and scenario planning

Provide clear and concise reporting to senior stakeholders, including dashboards and progress updates

Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and commercial teams to ensure programme accuracy and alignment
Key Requirements

Proven experience as a Project Planner / Construction Planner within infrastructure or utilities projects

Strong background in civil engineering projects (e.g. highways, utilities, power, or major infrastructure)

Demonstrable experience in integrated scheduling across multi-disciplinary projects

Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles

Solid understanding and practical experience working under NEC contracts

Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (or equivalent planning software)

Ability to interpret technical information and translate into structured programmes

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
Additional Requirements

Ability to work 3 days per week on site in Suffolk

Must be eligible to work in the UK

Full UK driving licence (desirable)
