About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Civil Water Engineer to play a key role in delivering complex, multi-disciplinary water infrastructure projects across the UK.
Working within a highly skilled engineering environment, you will lead technical delivery across a range of water sector projects including wastewater, clean water infrastructure, pipelines and water reuse schemes. This role offers the opportunity to work on major infrastructure programmes while supporting the development of junior engineers and contributing to high-quality project outcomes.
You will collaborate closely with project managers, technical teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate Civil Water engineering design delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary projects
- Produce and review technical deliverables including reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work
- Provide technical input across all Civil Water design elements
- Manage project timelines and budgets in collaboration with project management teams
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver integrated engineering solutions
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
- Support bid preparation and technical proposal development
- Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards and quality assurance procedures
- Deliver solutions across areas including hydraulics, wastewater, clean water infrastructure, pipelines and water reuse
What Our Client is Looking For:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer (or working towards)
- Proven experience leading or coordinating Civil Water design teams within a consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of water infrastructure design and delivery across the full project lifecycle
- Experience collaborating with contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of relevant design standards including CDM regulations, Eurocodes and NEC contracts
- Practical experience in risk assessment, quality control and design management
- Proficiency in industry software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, ArcGIS and related tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving

Eligibility:
- Right to work in the UK
- This role may require security clearance
- Candidates may need to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years UK residency if clearance is required
