Quantity Surveyor – HS2 Project – London
We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major infrastructure project supporting the delivery of the HS2 programme in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC contract experience and a background working on large-scale civil engineering, rail, or infrastructure projects.
Working within a high-performing commercial team, you will be responsible for the effective commercial management of project costs, subcontractors, change management, valuations, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of valuations and applications for payment
- Preparation of cost reports and commercial reporting
- Contract administration and change management under NEC contracts
- Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Management of subcontractor and supplier accounts
- Administration and agreement of final accounts
- Identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities
- Value engineering and cost control
- Preparation and maintenance of commercial registers
- Take-offs from drawings and remeasurement of works
- Updating and managing Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ Quantity Surveying experience
- Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
- Strong NEC contract knowledge and experience
- Experience working on major infrastructure, rail, or civil engineering projects
- Competent in take-offs and remeasurement from drawings
- Experience managing Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
- Commercially astute with strong contract administration skills
- Relevant industry qualification
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Desirable Experience
- HS2 project experience
- Major civils project experience
- Rail infrastructure experience
- Experience working within Tier 1 contractor environments
