About the Role:

Our client is looking for an experienced Civil Water Engineer to join a highly skilled Design & Advanced Technology team delivering innovative engineering solutions across the UK water sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects supporting the future development of the UK’s water networks. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality technical solutions across the full project lifecycle, working alongside experienced engineers and supporting major clean water, wastewater, hydraulics, water reuse and pipeline projects.

About Our Client:

Our client is a leading engineering consultancy delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. They specialise in providing innovative engineering solutions throughout the design, delivery and construction phases, supporting some of the UK’s most significant water infrastructure programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage Civil Water Engineers delivering technical design work on complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Deliver technical design solutions across areas including hydraulics, wastewater, clean water infrastructure, water reuse and pipelines.
  • Produce and review technical deliverables including design reports, drawings, calculations and scopes of work.
  • Provide technical input into project design deliverables, ensuring successful delivery against key milestones, programmes and budgets.
  • Collaborate with clients, operational teams, project teams and wider engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Mentor and support less experienced colleagues, helping to develop Civil Water Engineering capability within the team.
  • Work independently with minimal technical guidance, applying engineering judgement to solve complex challenges.
  • Provide technical support for bid proposals and tender submissions.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across the UK and overseas to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards through design checking and review processes.

What Our Client is Looking For:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ideally Chartered or Incorporated Civil Engineer.
  • Proven experience delivering Civil Water engineering design within a consultancy environment.
  • Experience coordinating or managing engineering design teams within multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience collaborating with contractors and supporting delivery throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience across water infrastructure design and delivery.
  • Understanding of risk assessment, quality control, design management and collaboration with key disciplines including MEICA, structures and geotechnics.
  • Knowledge of current design codes, standards and industry best practice, including CDM Regulations, Eurocodes, regulatory requirements, water utility standards and NEC contracts.
  • Previous experience within the water sector is essential.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with a focus on teamwork and project success.

Eligibility:

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and hold the relevant professional engineering qualifications. Previous experience within the UK water sector and knowledge of water infrastructure design standards is essential.
