My client is currently searching for highly qualified Bridge Engineer to join their Bridges and Civils team in the Transportation Practice division.
You will work closely with our client’s team in the South East to deliver a range of exciting and challenging projects and frameworks. These include the Croydon Area Remodelling Scheme (CARS), Civils Assessment Framework (CAFA), East West Rail Phase 2, High Speed 2, Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) Feltham Re-signalling, and other multi-disciplinary projects covering bridges, civils, highways, local transport, and rail, not only in the South East, but also throughout the wider UK.

Duties:
- Support the management of individual design packages and entire projects.
- Ensure project resourcing and financial control to achieve profitable delivery of schemes.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered within the set time frames and in accordance with my clients quality assurance systems.
Essential:
- Extensive experience in collaborating with major clients such as Network Rail, TfL, Local Authorities, Highways England, Developers, and/or Contractors.
- Possess a background in civil engineering design.
- Have an interest in delivering multi-disciplinary projects in either the highway or rail environment.
- Ideally, have experience working on projects at various stages of development, from feasibility studies to detailed designs.
- A balance of relevant industry experience, technical ability, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to support bids and tenders.
- A proven track record in conducting technical reviews of designs.
- Strong knowledge of relevant design standards, including Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW, and those of Highways England and Network Rail.
- Capability to develop and agree on scopes, manage the internal technical supply chain, and deliver high-quality outputs within set timeframes and budgets.
- Excellent project management skills, commercial awareness, and financial control across a range of contract types. This includes the ability to manage stakeholders, such as specialist suppliers, independent checkers, and local authorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of colleagues across various engineering disciplines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Qualifications:
- BEng / MEng or MSc degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered or near Chartered status and membership of the ICE or IStructE.
