HV Cable Jointer (Up to 33kV) – Utilities Sector

Overview
We are looking for an experienced High Voltage Cable Jointer to join a growing team delivering essential infrastructure projects across the utilities sector. This role involves the installation, jointing, termination, and maintenance of HV cables up to 33kV, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out jointing, terminating, and testing of HV cables up to 33kV
• Install and maintain underground cable networks in line with project specifications
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulations
• Conduct fault finding and repair work on HV networks
• Work collaboratively with site teams, supervisors, and project managers
• Complete all required documentation, including test results and as-built records
• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are used and maintained appropriately

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as an HV Cable Jointer working up to 33kV
• Relevant industry qualifications and authorisations (e.g. DNO authorisations, NVQ or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of jointing techniques, cable types, and installation methods
• Understanding of health & safety regulations within the utilities sector
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Full UK driving licence
• Flexible approach to working hours and willingness to work on-site across various locations

Desirable

• Experience working on DNO or IDNO networks
• Additional authorisations or competencies (e.g. switching, SAP support)
• Experience with fault location and network maintenance
