Chartered Bridge Engineer
We’re looking for a Chartered Bridge Engineer to join our Structures team, supporting a range of high-profile infrastructure projects for Transport Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and maintenance of Scotland’s trunk road network.
Role Overview
- Contract Length: 6 months
- Working Pattern: 3 days per week on-site
- Locations: Various project sites across Scotland, with design hubs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell, Perth, and Aberdeen
- Rate: £50-£55 per hour (umbrella) – negotiable based on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver robust and technically sound engineering solutions for bridges and related structures
- Lead and support junior engineers and technicians
- Prepare and review structural designs, calculations, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with clients and attend project meetings
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and regulatory standards
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in bridge or structural engineering
- Chartered Engineer status (ICE or IStructE) – essential
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design)
- Strong knowledge of CDM regulations and risk management practices
- Ability to work independently and lead small project teams
