Job Title: Ecologist
Salary: £16.82 per hour (PAYE, dependent on experience)
Location: Cardiff
Type: Contract – up to 12 months, with potential to extend | Hybrid working

About the Role:

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Ecologist to join their established Cardiff team in South Wales. You’ll collaborate with a range of specialists to deliver innovative ecological solutions across diverse, high-profile projects throughout the UK.

You’ll be contributing to initiatives that support biodiversity enhancement, sustainability, and innovation – with opportunities to shape best practice and apply creative approaches to environmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of ecological projects.
  • Plan, coordinate and undertake ecological field surveys, analysing and interpreting results.
  • Provide Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) support where required.

What Our Client is Looking For:

  • Degree in ecology or a closely related discipline.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • FISC Level 3 (or equivalent field identification skills).
  • Demonstrable protected species survey experience – particularly with hazel dormouse.
  • Protected species licences desirable but not essential.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Full UK/EEC driving licence.
