Job Title:

Electrical Mate

Role Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Electrical Mate to assist with ongoing electrical works across TFL Underground stations in Zones 1, 2 & 3.

The successful candidate will support electricians and telecom engineers on night shifts, carrying out installation and cable support works under supervision. This role requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience on similar rail or infrastructure projects and a valid CSCS card (or equivalent grading card).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of Cable Management Systems (CMS), including:

    • Trunking

    • Tray

    • Conduit

  • Support with the installation, termination, and testing of:

    • CAT6A and fibre optic cabling

    • Field antennas and associated telecoms equipment

  • Work effectively as part of a team under the supervision of the Site Person in Charge (SPC)

  • Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications

  • Maintain good housekeeping and follow site health & safety procedures

Shifts & Hours:

  • Nights: 23:45 – 04:45

  • Days: Sunday to Thursday

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Weekend Work: Available at enhanced rates

  • Duration: Ongoing (until end of 2026; continued work subject to performance)

Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements:

  • CSCS Card or Grading Card

  • Sentinel ICI (Industry Common Induction)

  • DBS Check

  • Asbestos Awareness Certification

  • Face Fit Test (proof required or must be undertaken)

Preferred Additional Training:

  • First Aid

  • PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association)

Location:

Work will take place at TFL Underground sites in Zones 1-3. Previous experience working in rail environments is essential.
