Do you want to join a dynamic and growing company?

Our client develops a globally scalable operational system providing data on rainfall severity, flood inundation footprints and depth, and flood impacts. The software supports operational flood management in the infrastructure, insurance, utilities and civil contingencies sectors. It is in operation in several countries internationally including the UK, Australia, Pakistan and Myanmar, with ongoing projects to set up the system in Democratic Republic of Congo, Togo, Ghana and a number of other countries.

In depth knowledge of hydrological models at a variety of scales (such as GloFAS) is key for this role.

The research and development nature of our clients’ software means that there is always the opportunity to further improve the methods and data used in the system. You will take a lead role in developing the science used in our clients’ software, in particular the hydrological models used by the system.

You will work closely with a team of scientists and software developers located in several offices and the role will require liaising with clients, projects managers and other team members.

You will be involved in mentoring and supporting the technical development of less experienced colleagues in the team.

There will be the opportunity to contribute to research and development projects, collaborating with academia and other researchers.

The location for this role is flexible although ideally the role would be located with other members of the Flood team – at the Skipton, Coleshill or Wallingford offices.
