Principal Bridge Engineer

Advance TRS are working with one of the UK’s largest and most prestigious engineering consultancies, who are keen to appoint a Principal Bridge Engineer into their Croydon office.

Responsibilities:

– Support on a number of high-profile projects and frameworks, which will include major highway improvement schemes and some local authority too

– Get actively involved in exciting projects such as East West rail Phase 2, HS2, Central Rail Systems Alliance (CRSA) and Croydon Area Remodelling Scheme

– You will be heavily involved in civil/structural design of projects, which will include renewal schemes, assessment works, new build schemes, as well as asset management ones

Requirements:

– You will hold a BEng/MEng or MSc degree in civil engineering or equivalent

– Hold Chartered status

– Have prior working experience of working on a mixture of bridge projects from feasibility to detailed design

– Strong understanding or relevant design standards (DMRB, NR and Eurocodes)

– Significant experience relating to the design of both highways and/or railway bridges

– Experience of using FEA such as LUSAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design and MIDAS

– The ability to manage packages of work and lead more junior staff

– Experience of managing various stakeholders

– Ideally hold some experience of bidding and tenders
