£75,000 – £80,000 (dependent on experience) + benefits

Falmer/Brighton (Hybrid – required onsite either once a week on Wednesdays or for a few days every couple of weeks)

About the Role:

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced Principal EICA Engineer to drive innovation across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You’ll develop forward-thinking, sustainable design solutions, assess new technologies, and play a key part in advancing modern water recycling and treatment facilities.

You’ll work within a high-performing multidisciplinary team delivering complex engineering outcomes that genuinely move the needle for environmental performance, efficiency, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of sustainable, environmentally responsible design solutions.
  • Provide expert oversight on design calculations, specifications, and technical standards.
  • Push continuous improvement by challenging outdated practices and adopting new approaches.
  • Research and embed industry best practice and digital design methods.
  • Collaborate with supply chain partners to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Support framework tenders, engineering assurance, auditing, and compliance.
  • Oversee design work and installations across multiple sites.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, strengthening capability across the team.
  • Ensure cost-effective solutions that meet or exceed budget expectations.

What Our Client is Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • MSc/MEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (IET or equivalent)

Experience:

  • 10+ years relevant engineering experience (open to candidates from oil & gas, energy, process industries, etc.)

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical thinking
  • Ability to manage complex engineering challenges and deliver innovation
  • Full UK driving licence for site visits

Eligibility:

You must have the right to work in the UK. A full UK driving licence is required due to site visits.
