About the Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for successfully delivering projects from inception to handover, ensuring operational excellence and commercial success. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will manage a range of capital delivery projects, balancing technical, contractual, and financial requirements to achieve client and business objectives.

This role requires not only strong project management skills but also proven commercial acumen, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through the full lifecycle using the four pillars of project management: Plan, Organise, Lead & Control.
  • Maintain financial and contractual control of projects, ensuring the company’s interests are protected at all times.
  • Accurately forecast, monitor, and report on costs, value, and profitability.
  • Ensure all estimating and cost build-ups are robust at proposal stage.
  • Proactively manage budgets, schedules, and resources to deliver within agreed parameters.
  • Work collaboratively with programming and logistics teams to meet project requirements.
  • Administer NEC4 contracts, including compensation event submissions and contract compliance.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, resolving commercial or contractual issues effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and management systems.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance operational and financial priorities.
  • Proficient in project management systems, tools, and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and respond to operational, contractual, and financial data.
  • Skilled in negotiation and resolution of contentious issues.
  • Proven ability to manage risks and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a Technical or Construction discipline preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the water or infrastructure sector.
