Job Title: Regulated Water Lead – Engineer (Principal Engineer / Technical Director level)
Salary: Circa £60,000-£75,000(Dependent on experience)
Location: Leeds
Type: Permanent, Full Time – Hybrid
About the Role:
Our client is looking to strengthen its position within the regulated water sector and is seeking a senior-level engineering professional to play a key role in delivering and shaping major UK infrastructure programmes.
This is a strategic position offering involvement across full project lifecycles, from feasibility and front-end design through to detailed design and construction support. The successful candidate will contribute both technically and commercially, influencing programme delivery and supporting wider sector growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project and programme delivery across full UK water project lifecycles (feasibility through to construction support)
- Support technical teams to meet programme, budget and quality targets
- Prepare briefs, scopes of work and contribute to bid proposals
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and supply chain partners
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, Safety in Design (CDM) and environmental legislation
- Manage contracts, budgets, change and risk
- Produce project reports and technical documentation
- Champion digital innovation and continuous improvement
- Mentor junior engineers and support professional development
- Potentially act as Delegated / Supervising Civil Engineer within ICE training schemes
What Our Client is Looking For:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status (or substantial progress towards chartership considered)
- Experience delivering projects for regulated UK water clients and contractors
- Strong end-to-end project management experience
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Commitment to innovation and quality improvement
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience mentoring engineers towards professional qualification
- Experience working within Office 365 and SharePoint environments
