Senior Civil Design Engineer

Job Title: Senior / Principal Civil Engineer
Day Rate: £350 – £400 per day (outside IR35)
Location: Brighton
Type: 6-month Contract | Full-time | ASAP start

About the Role:

This role will involve the design and upgrading of wastewater treatment works, including:

• Refurbishment and maintenance projects
• Design of new treatment plants
• Upgrades driven by population growth and new regulations (e.g. IED requirements, Final Enforcement Orders)

You’ll be expected to work independently, applying hands-on expertise to ensure robust and practical engineering solutions.

About the Client:

Our client is a specialist consultancy delivering engineering design across the UK utilities sector. They are known for their technical capability, collaborative approach, and commitment to high standards of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver wastewater treatment design projects
• Undertake refurb, maintenance, and upgrade designs
• Ensure compliance with regulations and enforcement requirements
• Work independently while contributing to a wider technical team

What Our Client is Looking For:

• Proven hands-on experience in wastewater treatment design
• Strong technical knowledge of refurbishment, upgrades, and new build schemes
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
• Familiarity with regulatory drivers such as IED and FEO requirements
