Job Title: Senior Ecologist
Salary: £30,000-£50,000 (dependent on experience)
Location: Luton – we can also consider London, Manchester, Birmingham, Wakefield (Hybrid working)
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Experience: Minimum 4y post graduate experience / ideally in a full time consultancy setting.

About the Role:
Our client is looking for a Senior Ecologist to join their team due to a growing workload. You will lead and manage key project delivery, with a focus on ecological surveys and reporting for large-scale projects, including bat monitoring. This hybrid role offers a combination of home and office work, based out of locations including London, Luton, Manchester, Birmingham, or Wakefield.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and coordinate technical aspects of the large-scale bat monitoring project.
·Ensure the quality of ecological surveys, analysis, and reporting aligns with industry standards and legislation.
·Oversee project coordination, ensuring it meets client needs while maintaining commercial and environmental responsibility.
·Collaborate with clients, statutory consultees, and project stakeholders to deliver project objectives.
·Mentor junior team members and manage team resources.
·Engage in business development, enhancing the company’s reputation and securing new projects.
·Promote the team’s capabilities to internal and external stakeholders.
What Our Client is Looking For:
Qualifications:
·Degree in Ecology, Environmental Management, or related field.
·Eligibility for Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) membership.
·CSCS card (or willingness to obtain).
Experience:
·Minimum 5 years of UK consultancy experience, working on both public and private sector projects.
·Proven experience coordinating ecological aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects.
·Expertise in UK habitats and protected species, particularly bats.
·Experience managing large datasets.
Skills:
·Strong analytical and organisational skills.
·Excellent understanding of UK wildlife legislation and ecological survey methods.
·Effective communication and collaborative skills.
·Commercial awareness of environmental consultancy.
·Full UK driver’s licence.
