Job Title: Senior Planner
Location: Bristol (Hybrid)

Overview
A leading engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support a major nuclear new build programme from its Bristol delivery hub. This role will focus on developing, maintaining, and assuring high-quality project schedules, working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams. You will play a key role in ensuring programme visibility, delivery confidence, and effective decision-making across a large, multi-disciplinary project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain detailed schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment to project scope, key milestones, and interfaces.

  • Produce fully logic-linked programmes, critical path analyses, and scenario planning to support project forecasting and strategic decision-making.

  • Work with engineering, design, procurement, and construction teams to capture progress, validate inputs, and maintain an accurate schedule baseline.

  • Lead schedule reviews, progress meetings, and performance tracking, providing clear reporting to senior leadership and client stakeholders.

  • Support integration of multiple workstreams into a consolidated master schedule, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with programme controls.

  • Contribute to risk and opportunity reviews, identifying schedule risks and supporting mitigation strategies.

  • Support planning processes, governance, and best practice implementation across the project.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior planners as required.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience as a Senior Planner within major infrastructure, nuclear, energy, defence, construction, or heavy engineering projects.

  • Advanced user of Primavera P6 with the ability to produce, analyse, and challenge complex schedules.

  • Solid understanding of project controls, critical path analysis, earned value principles, and progress measurement.

  • Experience working in highly regulated or safety-critical environments (nuclear experience advantageous).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and articulate scheduling insights clearly.

  • Fluent or conversational French is highly desirable due to international interfaces on the project.
