Location: Tamworth (Client Office-Based)

Your New Role

The company is looking for Civil Engineers at Senior, Principal, and Associate grades to lead and manage non-infrastructure water sector projects across the UK. Depending on your experience and skill level, you will either focus on leading technical designs, managing multidisciplinary teams, or taking strategic responsibility for high-profile projects and business growth.

Key Responsibilities (Varies by Grade)

  • Senior Civil Engineer
    • Lead civil design for water and wastewater treatment projects, from concept to detailed design.
    • Mentor junior engineers and review their design work.
    • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to align project objectives.
    • Support the preparation of tender documents, cost estimates, and project proposals.
    • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Principal Civil Engineer
    • Oversee the delivery of civil design projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with standards.
    • Provide technical leadership and sign-off on design deliverables.
    • Guide and mentor engineers of all levels, ensuring continuous development.
    • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource planning.
    • Represent the firm in client meetings and design reviews.
    • Support business development efforts, contributing to bids and strategic planning.
  • Associate Civil Engineer
    • Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary projects, overseeing the overall project strategy and performance.
    • Manage key client relationships, providing technical expertise and strategic direction.
    • Take ownership of the commercial aspects of projects, including budget management and contract administration.
    • Lead business development activities, including contributing to proposals and securing new opportunities.
    • Ensure the successful delivery of projects within budget and time constraints.

What We’re Looking For

  • For all roles:
    • A degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
    • Chartered status (CEng) preferred for Principal and Associate roles, desirable for Senior role.
    • Experience in civil engineering, particularly in the water sector.
    • Strong technical understanding of water and wastewater treatment systems.
    • Proficiency in design software (Civil 3D, Revit, AutoCAD, Tekla, STAAD, etc.).
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Senior Civil Engineer:
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, ideally in the UK water sector.
    • Experience with reinforced concrete detailing, foundation design, and civil works.
  • Principal Civil Engineer:
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience, with a proven track record in delivering non-infrastructure projects.
    • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a deep understanding of UK design standards and water industry regulations.
  • Associate Civil Engineer:
    • Minimum 12 years’ experience, with significant exposure to managing large-scale, non-infrastructure water projects.
    • Proven commercial awareness and experience in client management, business development, and contract administration.
