Senior Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major university accommodation development in East London. This flagship project will span four years and involves the construction of a high-rise residential building, providing modern, high-quality student accommodation as part of the university’s long-term strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of the project to time, cost, and quality standards
- Lead client-side project management activities throughout the full project lifecycle, from inception to completion
- Oversee design coordination, procurement strategy, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of Junior Project Managers, supporting their development and ensuring effective delegation and oversight
- Liaise with the client, design team, contractors, and local authorities to ensure compliance, safety, and stakeholder satisfaction
- Monitor progress and prepare regular reports on key project milestones, risks, and financial performance
- Support the implementation of governance structures and quality assurance procedures in line with industry best practices
- Manage change control processes and maintain a clear audit trail of decisions and approvals
Requirements:
- Proven experience delivering complex, high-rise residential or student accommodation projects – preferably within the education sector
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, procurement processes, and risk management
- Demonstrable leadership capabilities and prior experience managing junior or assistant project managers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Professionally qualified – APM, MAPM, or PRINCE2 (Practitioner) preferred
- Able to attend site 2-3 days per week in East London
