Utilities Design Manager

My client is delivering some of Ireland’s most ambitious and transformative infrastructure projects – and they’re looking for a Utilities Design Lead / Manager to take technical ownership of all utility design and coordination across their flagship programmes.

This is your opportunity to lead complex multi-utility design on major national projects, working at the forefront of infrastructure delivery while shaping smarter, safer, better-connected communities.

What you’ll be doing

As the Utilities Design Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind successful delivery of all utility-related works, including:

• Providing technical leadership across utility design on major infrastructure schemes
• Acting as the key link between clients, utility providers and project teams
• Leading design approval processes and ensuring full regulatory compliance
• Integrating utility designs with enabling works and construction programmes
• Identifying and mitigating risks around diversions and new installations
• Coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth, safe, efficient delivery
• Championing innovation and value engineering across utility solutions
• Reporting on design progress, risks, and issues to project leadership

What you’ll bring

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) – essential
• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Strong track record leading utility design on large infrastructure projects
• Deep understanding of Irish utility regulations and approval pathways
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Confident communicator with first-rate problem-solving ability
• Experience in enabling works or early-stage planning (advantageous)
