My client is looking to bring on board a Lead Utility Surveyor based out in London with hybrid working.

This is an opportunity to join a growing team in a leading engineering consultancy, providing the breadth and diversity of project opportunities that brings across all sectors of the engineering industry.

They’re looking for a new discipline lead for buried utilities surveys to sit within their broader geophysics team. The ideal candidate should be a hands-on leader where you will still actively be involved in the projects and either have experience of a similar role or alternatively be a senior utility surveyor who with support is looking to develop into management of this work area.

The position will support ongoing growth within the team, replacing the incumbent lead who will be transitioning into a different role.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluating technical aspects of surveys and resources required.
• Plan and optimize surveys.
• Evaluate commercial and health & safety aspects of surveys.
• Price surveys to a range of specifications and environments.
• Manage survey teams in the field.
• Undertake utility surveys using GPR and EML to PAS128 standards.
• Import and download survey data.
• Review and perform analysis and interpretation of data.
• Review and produce buried utility drawings.
• Prepare technical reports in a variety of formats.
• Perform QA as appropriate.
• On odd occasions, prepared to work at weekends and nights in support of projects and other team members.

Qualifications

• Operational survey management experience.
• Appropriate H&S awareness.
• Experience in undertaking buried utility surveys to PAS128 standards.
• Topographical survey skills.
• CAD (AutoCAD / Microstation) experience.
