Team Administrator – Edinburgh

I am currently working closely with a leading construction business, privately and family run business, who operate across the UK and Ireland, to recruit for a Team Administrator to join their business.

As a team administrator you will be managing two projects simultaneously and be the main and primary contact for all administration on site. You will work closely with the main construction project team, but will also liaise with other sub contractors, clients, suppliers and head office team when required.

This is a permanent role. Main hours are 8am to 5pm. Flexible working and hybrid working is available.

Role and Responsibilities:

Book travel and accommodation as required by the team
Book meetings and arrange refreshments
Provide weekly payroll submission based on collating data from labour allocation sheets
Manage new starters and submit relevant information to the HR team
Manage purchased, operated hire, off hires of material as required on site
Raise material requisitions as required by the project team on the Coins system

Maintaining stationery levels and ordering as required
Update Environmental Waste Management register,
Maintaining training register with employees competencies and check for out of date, refresher requirements

Candidate Requirements:

Previous administration experience in a similar construction, infrastructure sector is essential

What you’ll be doing

Leading one of the Water / wastewater infrastructure or non-infrastructure Civil Engineering teams, the Principal Civil Engineer is a key member of the team. The key responsibilities of the role include:

Drive excellence in the Water and/or Wastewater Civil Engineering discipline

Provide the technical input into Project Definition briefs

Lead the civil input into asset surveys and condition assessments, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole life costing, and preliminary/outline designs

What you should bring to the role

Significant expertise in UK water utility civil infrastructure design and construction. Experience in water mains and/or sewer design and rehabilitation would be an added advantage

Role

Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer

My client is looking for self-motivated and diligent Mechanical Design Engineers to join their multi-discipline project engineering team. They have vacancies for Senior / Principal level Mechanical Engineer who will be based in their Gosforth office, with a hybrid option of working, 2 days in the office and 3 days from home.

Job Overview:

You will deliver the mechanical design content of challenging industrial projects for their clients within the water and wastewater industries, and for process, chemical and general industrial companies and contracting organisations throughout the UK and beyond.

Working as a member of various multi-discipline project design teams you will be responsible for the project mechanical design input at all stages of projects. This will include carrying out asset surveys, calculations and design for feasibility studies, conceptual & detailed design. You will write the mechanical sections of reports, prepare procurement documentation, carry out tender assessment, review of contractor submissions, witness testing of plant & provide technical support to construction management staff. You will lead the mechanical engineering aspects on projects, managing the technical input of others and their delivery to time, cost and quality criteria, and carrying out technical reviews. Role Requirements:

You will be qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with Chartered Engineer status.
A good technical understanding of mechanical principles, including fluid mechanics, and use of a mathematical approach to mechanical problem solving by calculation where appropriate
Recent experience in the design and specification of mechanical assets in the water / wastewater sector.

A Tier 1 contractor in the rail industry are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their team in the York area.

The role will involve delivering projects of all appropriate sizes and complexities, although at times you may be required to deliver sections of a larger Project.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The role would be 6 months, seeing you joining as existing team on this large Rail Systems Scheme.

Designer’s Site Representative/Resident Engineer

My client, a major engineering consultancy, are looking for a Designer’s Site Representative/Resident Engineer to work on a major Highway Scheme in Kent.

Your role will be site based and you will act as an interface between the design team and the Contractor who is delivering construction of the project. You will ensure that construction is compliant with the provisions of the construction requirements and also the other applicable provisions of the contract. You also will be responsible for resolving commercial and technical issues as they occur and will be monitoring progress in your areas of responsibility.

Key duties will include:

Making sure that the construction team understand the design and you will provide further guidance when needed. providing further clarity if required.
You will assist in making decisions regarding necessary modifications to design, which will include liaising with the design teams
Raising and responding to technical queries and requests for information, etc.
Ensuring work is carried out in compliance with the designs and specifications.

Necessary experience:

A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or any other relevant subject.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) in the UK, ideally MICE or MCIHT

An exciting opportunity to become a principal safety assurance manager for the largest rail company in the UK. As the principal safety assurance manager, you will be maintaining product approval for technology such as interlocking, control centres or ETCS systems. As the Civil Asset Condition Inspector for either water or wastewater, you will be responsible for carrying out assessments on the condition of large civil assets.

This role will sit within their Municipal Water Engineering team, which focuses on delivering engineering services for the Municipal Water Sector in the UK and Ireland and to provide engineering solutions to water treatment issues of the 21st Century. Your typical week working:

* Attending site visits for data acquisition and meeting site operators

* To provide technical input to the procurement process

* Produce Process Design deliverables such as: optioneering studies; process calculations, mass balance, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation drawings, sketches, basis of design reports, etc, to achieve the optimum solution for the project.

* Undertaking outline or detailed process engineering design

You will have the following experience:

* Experience in the municipal water industry

* Experience delivering optioneering studies and feasibility, concept designs and/or detail design in municipal clean water treatment solutions including

* At least 4 years’ experience in a consultancy environment or engineering company or other relevant industry acting as Process Engineer.

* Extensive use of MS Office software (particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

* Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to manage/deliver several projects at once;

* Proven ability to prepare high quality written technical reports and deliver verbal presentations to a high level of quality assurance for a variety of audiences;

* Confident, articulate communicator with ability to engage in active, professional verbal communications and presentations to colleagues (including senior colleagues), clients and sub-contractors.

My client is looking to secure a Digital Design Manager to join their team on a permanent basis at either their offices near Derby or Coventry.

Reporting to the Design Excellence Business Lead, the Digital Design Manager will:

* Lead a team of digital designers responsible 3d modelling activities on complex projects including developing and updating feasibility, outline design 3d models / drawings for civil, mechanical, electrical and ICA works for the Water Treatment and Waste Treatment project teams. Managing the team workload to meet agreed project timescales.

* Develop the capability and upskill the designers in the infra sub services (water infra and waste infra) to carry out less complex digital design within their teams.

* Establish standards and procedures for CAD drawings and associated data management and playing a key role in the implementation and consistent ongoing use of BIM. Other duties to be performed as assigned.

* Lead the development and implementation of a collaborative BIM stage 2 approach to all Capital Delivery and Design (CDD) digital engineering activities, including the Common Data Environment (CDE) to be used by all internal and external parties.

* Leads a team of CDE administrators setting up projects within the CDE, minor configuration changes to the CDE, training of the CDE platform and dealing with technical queries.

* Leads, develops and implements the Digital Engineering Strategy, researching new technologies, hardware and other digital innovations and assessing how they could assist the Design Teams.

This role is integral to the business as it will be supporting the Water digital transformation strategy by supplementing the existing Water delivery team with experienced modelling capability. It will also involve mentoring the delivery teams in BIM methodologies, deliver technical governance, developing their standard component library and assurance of model build quality.
