“As a Senior Delivery Consultant for the Water Recruitment Team, I provide effective and efficient delivery and support to the Directors and Sales Team.
My role includes:
- Building key relationships externally with clients and candidates & internally within our Guildford and Port Solent Office
- Candidate resourcing, screening and interviewing
- Mapping National markets, producing internal and external reports on competitors and future clients for succession planning, market intelligence, competitor activity, salary information and new initiatives to attract candidates
- Chasing up of outstanding candidate references and compliance information
- Managing the correspondence between Advance-TRS and clients/candidates and managing diaries
- Providing data and reports to internal team and Clients
- Moving the business forward by achieving business plan objectives and continuous process improvements
- Offering pre-interview advice to both clients and candidate to optimise the effectiveness of the interviewing process
- Closing the candidates on salary expectations and ensuring all aspects have been fully covered e.g. notice period, interviews, holidays etc and that the candidate fully understands the Pre-employment Screening requirements of the client.
- Managing candidates right through the recruitment process from initial conversations to informing unsuccessful candidates
- Ensuring all KPI’s are met e.g. candidates sourced, candidates interviewed, shortlisted, interviews and offers etc.”

Matt is the Managing Director of our Construction Division at Advance TRS. He has extensive experience within construction recruitment and has had a number of roles managing talented recruiters and top recruitment solutions.
Possessing 25 years experience building firm relationships with companies, professionals and industry luminaries within construction, the built environment and major infrastructure, Matt’s previous experience has included Director and Partner level management. He has many contacts within both the construction and recruitment industries and is excited to be bringing in a new line of Business to further establish the company’s growing construction sector.
Rob has joined Advance TRS as our Water & Infrastructure Director. He has 12 years experience in the Built Environment and Infrastructure sectors and has extensive experience specifically in the water, waste, utilities, environment, and civil engineering sectors. Recruiting for a range of public and private sector clients across the UK Including consultants, contractors and NGO’s.
Rob has a friendly, dedicated, honest and professional approach and he will be using all of his knowledge and skills to help drive the business forward.
Michael has extensive experience within the built environment sector, leading sales teams to drive business growth and team-wide success. He is a member of the senior management team at Advance TRS with the responsibility for business development.
Michael has a strong background in Civils and Construction recruitment and is successfully leading the growing rail recruitment team at Advance TRS.
Carolyn is our Finance Director, overseeing all aspects of the company’s finances and contractor payroll. She has been with the business since the beginning and worked closely with Andy and the Directors to build the business from scratch.
Carolyn leads our rapidly growing accounts team ensuring over 300 contractors and staff are paid correctly and on time each week.
Having completed her accountancy training in the owner managed business services department at Ernst & Young in London, she is an ACA qualified accountant with over 20 years’ service industry experience.
Paul Metcalfe is a renowned industry veteran with a career spent managing recruitment companies spanning more than 25 years. Before joining the Advance TRS team in 2017 he was the co-founder and former managing director of one of the industry’s largest recruitment businesses and was instrumental in growing the business from zero to £150m in just 12 years.
Metcalfe’s unique industry expertise will help take the company to the next level, his main remit is to help Advance TRS sustain its growth plans through a series of mergers, acquisitions, and organic business growth.

Paul has built an extensive network of clients across telecommunications, mechanical and electrical sectors within the Network Rail and London Underground infrastructures. His expert and diverse experience within the rail industry enables him to assist with any level of recruitment assignment from individual requirements through to the provision of large teams of site operatives.
As Operations Director, Paul is responsible for the continual development of the company’s compliance and operational systems and ensures that Advance TRS conforms with Link-Up procedures, government regulations, and client processes; all in all giving clients and candidates the confidence that our systems are robust enough to support any service they require.
Paul oversees the functional operations of the business and ensures all aspects of the company work together to achieve the best results and deliver for our clients and candidates alike.
Andy founded Advance TRS in 2011 and today the company continues to be widely acknowledged as one of the fastest growing of its kind. In that time Andy has built an exceptional team of consultants who, having benefited from his experience and work ethos, are fast becoming well-known for their own highly respected recruitment capabilities.
A member of the Institute of Recruitment Consultants, Andy has been celebrated for his services to recruitment and the rail sector throughout his career, most notably through receiving the Highly Commended Recruiter of the Year Award 2012.
