Systra snaps up TSP Projects following British Steel demise
French engineering giant Systra has snapped up engineering firm TSP Projects following its release from British Steel’s portfolio. The acquisition of TSP Projects, whose recent works include the revamp of Leeds train station roof, will allow Systra to double the size of its operations in the UK and Ireland and see the firm target work on projects such as Heathrow. VolkerFitzpatrick wins £75M RAF base contract
VolkerFitzpatrick has won the £75M contract to undertake resurfacing works at RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland. The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has appointed the contractor to the work, which comes alongside other improvements at the base including new accommodation for personnel, a new air traffic control tower, upgrades to drainage and electrical supplies, and faciliites for IX (Bomber) squadron. Kier to deliver £13.9m framework at Barnsley blood centre
Kier has been appointed to deliver a £13.9m full internal fit-out at Barnsley blood centre in Capitol Park, Dodworth by NHS and Blood Transplant. The Barnsley blood centre will be 6,750m² with three labs on the ground floor and an additional lab, open plan office space, meeting rooms and catering facilities housed on the first floor. The centre will also house environmentally controlled laboratories to be used to research advanced cell therapies. Read more
