Job Title: Temporary Works Co-ordinator

Salary: £400-£450 per day, Inside IR35

Location: Leicester, UK

Type: Contract, hybrid

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a Temporary Works Co-ordinator to lead planning, coordination, design assurance, implementation, and removal of temporary works (TW) on live construction sites. You will be the primary point of contact for all temporary works matters, ensuring safety, compliance, and programme efficiency. You will manage the interface between Temporary Works Designers, Supervisors, the construction team, and the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Temporary Works Register; ensure all items are identified, risk assessed, and controlled through their lifecycle.
  • Develop and enforce project-specific Temporary Works procedures aligned with company standards and BS 5975.
  • Issue permits-to-load/unload only after inspections, design checks, and hold points are met.
  • Prepare and brief TW Design Briefs; ensure clear load cases, interfaces, constraints, and construction methodology.
  • Manage clash/interface issues between TW and permanent works, utilities, scaffolding, lifting operations, earthworks, and geotechnical risks.
  • Nominate and brief Temporary Works Supervisors and site teams on design intent, inspection/test plans, and hold points.
  • Ensure TW are installed, inspected, maintained, adapted, and removed in accordance with design and procedures.
  • Integrate TW controls into lifting plans, excavation support, formwork, temporary stability, access, temporary services, traffic management, and drainage/over‑pumping.
  • Conduct site inspections, escalate hazards, and block work if controls are not in place.
  • Maintain records: TW Register, design/check certificates, inspection records, permits, NCRs, handover/strike certificates, and as-built information.
  • Provide weekly status updates to the Project Manager on critical TW, upcoming hold points, design deliverables, resource pressures, and risks/opportunities.

What Our Client is Looking For:

  • CSCS card (appropriate level)
  • Temporary Works Co‑ordinator Training Course (TWCTC) certificate (CITB)
  • SMSTS (or equivalent site management safety training)
  • First Aid at Work (desirable)
  • Appointed Person (Lifting) or LOLER awareness (desirable)
  • 2+ years’ experience in TW coordination/supervision on live construction sites
  • Proven experience across multiple disciplines: civil structures, deep excavations & temporary support, formwork/falsework, scaffolding & access, temporary services, heavy lifting, crane bases/platforms
  • Track record in managing design checks, permits, hold points, and interface risks on programme-critical works
  • Experience working with tier‑1/large subcontractors and design consultants
