Job Role: Regional Commissioning Manager
Location: Hampton
Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 + competitive benefits package
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Regional Commissioning Manager to support delivery across their AMP8 Thames Water programme. Reporting to the Senior Commissioning Manager, this role will take ownership of commissioning activities across a designated region, ensuring efficient delivery through all stages of the project lifecycle.
You will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities, driving safe and effective integration of assets, and ensuring seamless project handover. This is a leadership position with responsibility for both people management and technical delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Resource and line management within the appointed hub/area
- Mentoring and managing apprentices and graduates
- Day-to-day management and coordination of commissioning and commissioning planning activities
- Planning and overseeing process commissioning and testing activities
- Ensuring commissioning is carried out safely in line with regulations and procedures
- Undertaking hands-on commissioning activities when required
- Securing stakeholder buy-in to commissioning plans and ensuring smooth asset integration
- Acting as Commissioning Manager for Hazard Studies 4, 5 and 6
- Collaborating with other regional teams to share best practice
- Working closely with engineering teams to ensure “design for commissioning”
- Preparing and delivering training plans, including coordination with equipment suppliers
- Facilitating continuous improvement through commissioning feedback
- Managing off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities
- Ensuring timely production of commissioning documentation and O&M manuals
About you:
- Degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, or process) or equivalent qualification
- Proven hands-on commissioning experience, ideally within the water industry
- Previous experience operating as a Commissioning Manager in a similar environment
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Solid understanding of commissioning processes across the full project lifecycle
- SAP qualification (desirable)
