I am currently working closely with a leading civil engineering business, who operate across the UK and Ireland, to recruit for a Project Administrator to join their business, to work on a site based in Glasgow. The project has not yet started and is due to start in Jan / Feb 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join the team from the start of the project.

Interviews will take place in January.

You must be able to drive and have a valid driving licence. You will not be considered if not.

As a project administrator you will be managing one project and be the main and primary contact for all administration on site. You will work closely with the main construction project team, reporting to the project manager but will also liaise with other sub contractors, clients, suppliers and head office team when required. You will provide admin support but also be supporting with payroll duties too.

You will receive one week of training before starting your new role on site.

Main hours are 8am to 5pm however flexible working is available to suit around early/ later starts and finishes. However you must be based on site Monday to Friday and no working from home is available.

Role and Responsibilities:

Document Controller (Aconex) required to join our client, a high profile and large specialist engineering business. My client works as a tier one main contractor on up to £100m value projects in London and surrounding area. Scope of works vary from demolition, piling and structures.

As a document controller you will be joining an established project in Central London. You will be the sole document controller on site, focusing on the documentation but also supporting with all administrative duties as required.

This is a permanent role paying up to £40,000 depending on level of experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Electrical Engineer will deliver the EICA design content of water industry projects as part of our clients multi-disciplined Water Design Team based close to Durham.

Projects will include water and sewage works design. This will include the design delivery at all stages, from feasibility and pioneering through to detailed designs for construction.

The duties will range from surveying and reporting on existing installations, to determining the best solutions for pumping stations, treatment works, mechanical screening, sludge handling systems, pipework, gantry steelwork, etc.

Responsibilities

Site Administrator / Document Controller required to join our client, a high profile and large civil engineering business working on a number of high profile projects in Central London.

You will be based on one of their Central London sites that has up to 2 years left on the project. You will act as the sole admin / document control resource for the project and be the first point of contact to the project team on site.

Hours are 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Fully site based role with no option of hybrid or remote working.

Our client is currently looking for a Principal Civil Engineer to join their Capital Delivery team in North West London. This position would involve leading a team of c.10 engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Concept design through feasibility and de-risking activities to contract award.
  • Technical Assurance of detailed designs by contractors, design change reviews and waiver applications during construction.
  • Provide the Project Teams with the support they need during the commissioning and handover of assets.
  • Act as the key contact for the Contract Design Management regulations designer or Principal Designer role as required.
  • Undertake Health and Safety inspections of construction sites
  • Be competent in risk management, including risk identification, mitigation, and control. Being able to de-risk and add value is a key skill for this position.

Requirements

  • Civil engineering degree or equivalent and hold a professional chartership
  • Background in infra (water and wastewater pipework) design including pumping stations, storage tanks, and open cut and no dig techniques. Background within non-infra works (treatment works) will be also considered.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance.
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence senior colleagues and collaborate with others to achieve buy-in from all those involved.

Role

Our client is looking to strengthen their Site Commissioning Team with an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to work on a variety of Southern Water projects.

About the Role:

  • You will report directly to the Commissioning Manager
  • Carry out day to day management, coordination and delivery of on-site commissioning activities and off-site commissioning planning activities
  • Produce regular project reports and commissioning completion reports on nominated projects.
  • Ensure commissioning is carried out safely in accordance with regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary commissioning documentation is produced in a timely manner and co-operate with technical documentation teams to ensure timely delivery of O&M manuals.
  • Ensure the effective integration of assets into the existing works without detriment and risk to service level agreements
  • Manage and complete off-site testing and pre-commissioning activities by suppliers or others
  • Drive efficiencies and operate tight change control procedures on nominated projects.
  • To provide cost effective system commissioning and ICA engineering

About you:

  • Previous experience within water treatment (Non Infrastructure)
  • Electrical Background / Qualification
  • Relevant CSCS card

Looking to hear from Electrical Site Supervisors / AP to help support our client on a portfolio of water projects on the Southern Water framework.

About the Role:

  • Support the Site Manager in maintaining a safe working environment for all employees, supply chain partners and visitors
  • Ensure compliance with Control of Electrical Works E01 and The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
  • Check that all relevant documents adequately describe the work to be carried out and that all relevant HS&E documents are correctly recorded when received and that they are the latest version.
  • Supervise work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with Method Statements and Work Instructions from the Project Manager
  • Record the progress of works on record drawings or other suitable means when required
  • Inspect and record incoming materials and their documentation where required
  • Assist in planning

About you:

  • Previous experience of working in the water and waste water industry
  • Have previous experience within an electrical supervisor role writing electrical permits to work and controlling electrical health and safety on site
  • Experience working with LV electrical switchgear and motor control centres
  • Experience in electrical installations, cabling and building services
  • Experience in control Systems, motor control and telemetry
  • Experience in HV awareness
  • 17th Edition Update and full working knowledge of BS7671
  • ECS CARD and EUSR
