Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to share expert geotechnical knowledge with our clients civil design team and give ongoing project support as needed.
  • Help colleagues and clients with your technical skills.
  • Check project risks and take part in hazard workshops.
  • Team up with design managers and work with other design groups.
  • Put together and review ground investigation plans.
  • Visit sites during ground investigations and ask for lab tests when necessary.
  • Collaborate with tech experts to create best practices.

Requirements

  • Holder of a Civil Engineering degree and Chartered status
  • Background in civil design, preferably in a consultancy setting.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Input to, manage and update construction programmes ensuring key milestones are met

  • Attend Health & Safety, Progress, Employee Forums and Coordination meetings as required
  • Work with the Project Manager, Health & Safety, Design and Construction teams to report on all near misses / unsafe conditions/ accidents/ incidents
  • Preparation of pre-start packs and collation and uploading of collated data to systems
  • Work closely with Project Quantity Surveyor to generate cost plans, input commitments and monitor project out-turn costs, reporting to the PM any variations and assist in preparation of mitigation plans
  • Champion design liaison meetings
  • Support your team to ensure that all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to and that all activities are carried out with due regard to the Health and Safety of all employees, Clients and members of the general public

About you:

Essential:

  • Engineering experience
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a construction related discipline.
  • Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to work in close partnership with clients and end users.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and regulations including CDM 2015

My Client a design and build contractor to the UK water sector have an immediate need for a civil structural design engineer to join them on a contract basis outside IR35 for a period of 6 months

This immediate requirement is for a senior engineer to develop a design scheme for a sludge retaining wall/ bund around an existing waste water treatment plant. the Wall is likely to be between 1-1.5m tall and across two sections of the existing treatment works site around a perimeter of C400m. the scope of the scheme is to provide protection to the site and retain sludge on site in the event of a failure within the main sludge holding tank and existing treatment plant infrastructure

My Client a leading Design and Build consultancy are currently recruiting for a CAD Manager to join Their UK design team. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging and exciting projects designing excellent services and solutions for our wide client base within the UK Water Sector.
