Technical Services Manager

This is an excellent opportunity to join a major Tier 1 main contracting group as Technical Services Manager, delivering building services technical capabilities within public sector framework contracts in the Hertfordshire region.

As Technical Services Manager you will manage the preconstruction phase through the tender and design development period and ensure the production of high-quality information and accurate costs. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, you will work alongside the Pre-con team and carry out technical reviews of tender documents, liaise with the estimating team and adjust designs accordingly, supply chain coordination and oversee all service handovers between the preconstruction and delivery team to ensure a technically and contractually compliant services tender.

Moving forwards you will also lead the post contract installation, delivery and commissioning phases of works to live projects within the Healthcare and Justice sectors. Working alongside the project operational delivery team, specialist contractors and consultants to ensure timely, safe and cost effective delivery over the installation of all lighting, heating, power and mechanical / water services to projects.

This is an exciting role which will see you working across several projects simultaneously and also be the go-to MEP expert for your projects.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational responsibility for delivery of building services engineering works in terms of Health and Safety, programme, and quality
  • Attend, and chair where appropriate, meetings with Clients, designers, specialist contractors and other team members
  • Contribute to and/or produce the regular Project Report and attend Project Meetings
  • Review designers and contractors’ drawings for completeness of information and compliance with contract requirements (specification, ER, etc)
  • Check ongoing installation for compliance with contract requirements and Industry best practice
  • Provide expertise in planning and executing the building services engineering delivery and associated commissioning
  • Responsible for the delivery of the building services engineering works on their projects

Skills and experience:

The southern region of a major public sector framework main contract construction group have secured a new build education scheme in Essex valued at £16M. They have identified the need to recruit a Project Manager to lead the full project life cycle of the scheme which consists of new build secondary education facility.

Role purpose:

To deliver a quality service and product to their clients in line with the project goals by working with the project team and applying company culture, systems and procedures. Leading the full project life cycle from initial pre construction programming and design through to post contract operational delivery.

Key accountabilities:

  • To take full project responsibility for the delivery of projects, reporting to the Regional Construction Director/Divisional Director as required

The Senior Site Engineer and Site Engineers will be critical. My client is currently searching for highly qualified Principal Bridge Engineer to join their Bridges and Civils team in the Transportation Practice division.

The job opening is for our clients NW offices in Warrington or Manchester, and we are searching for a candidate who can exhibit an exceptional level of civil engineering capability and lead the technical delivery of bridge and civils design projects. The successful candidate should have experience in structural and civil design, specifically working within the UK highways and/or rail sectors, and a proven track record of managing and delivering engineering design projects successfully.
