DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Advance TRS are working with a major engineering consultant who are working on the northern phase of HS2 (Phase 1). They are looking to hire a number of engineers to be based in Birmingham on long term contracts. The roles are across a few different disciplines, which include: bridges or viaducts, drainage, utilities and earthworks.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Construction Phase Support (CPS) Delivery Area Technical Lead.
  • Will be the Designer’s Site Representative and will coordinate directly with the Contractor’s design and construction delivery teams.
  • Will be responsible for adherence to relevant CPS Management Plan and Contractor’s construction management plans.
  • Will provide technical support to the Contractor during the construction programme. This support will include:
    • Reviewing and responding to Contractor’s proposal for design changes.
    • Reviewing non-conformance reports and providing input the acceptance process and/or providing technical advice for proposed remedial work.
    • Reviewing Contractors Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs)
    • Witnessing Contractor’s testing and inspections to support the construction assurance process.
    • Reviewing construction records to verify design intent and support the construction assurance process.
    • Coordination with the Contractor to ensure that FCRs, NCRs and redline drawings are configured and provided to the Site Support Team for development of as-built drawings.

Electrical Supervisor

My client is looking for an Electrical Site Supervisor covering the Kent area, working across Southern Water projects including CMDP.

Generally, the site hours will be between 7:00am – 5:00pm and will be an hourly paid position and will be a Permanent role.

Travel pay will also be included at 100% of the hourly rate. The role will include a van and a fuel card although there may be a wait for the van due to the current climate. If this is the case, they will pay 45p per mile up to 10k miles and 20p per mile thereafter.

By calculating the additional benefits, the overall salary will be in the region of £50,000-£55,000 per annum.

There is also a career progression path should the candidate desire.

The role will involve the following:

1. To be responsible for supervising electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and the companies.

Being a smaller consultancy my client is able to offer a broad range of experience in addition to technical design which may include project management, bidding & tendering, site visits, commercial management and client / stakeholder relationship management.

Our clients’ company partners are based in the office and are very experienced engineers who would be able to provide expert support, training and guidance.

Our client is looking for candidates with well-rounded experience. Covering everything from initial concept design, through outline and detailed design, then construction support on-site. Experience of working in a D&B environment would be beneficial.

If you have experience designing schemes in the following areas then our client would be interested in speaking with you:

Cleanwater: Trunk mains, water mains rehabilitation, water main diversions, PRV (pressure reducing valves), leakage manage / pressure management, cleanwater networks, water supply, water pipelines

Wastewater: Sewers, wastewater networks, combined sewer overflows (CSO), rising mains
