SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

The Southern region of a major public sector framework main contract construction group have secured a new build education scheme in Brentwood, Essex. They have identified the need to recruit a Senior Project Manager to lead the full project life cycle of the scheme which consists of new build education teaching facility and offices. The scheme is valued in excess of £16M and is set to commence on site in Jan 2023.

Role purpose:

To deliver a quality service and product to their clients in line with the project goals by working with the project team and applying company culture, systems and procedures. Leading the full project life cycle from initial pre construction programming and design through to post contract operational delivery.

Key accountabilities:

  • To take full project responsibility for the delivery of projects, reporting to the Regional Construction Director/Divisional Director as required
  • Take full ownership of the contract programme including design, procurement, construction, and handover to ensure delivery on time

  • Ensure full compliance with current management systems and procedures
  • Be aware of the requirements of the Considerate Constructors scheme and ensure standards are maintained to achieve the stated regional KPI
  • With line manager support ensure the project is properly resourced in terms of delivery and safety.

Summary of Role:

To ensure the successful financial completion of projects, protecting the exposure of the Company to financial risks, together with adherence to the commercial procedures of the Business. Responsible for the commercial management of a section of a large project or on a number of smaller projects.

The Central region of a major framework main contract construction group have secured a new build education scheme in Oxford. They have identified the need to recruit a Project Manager to lead the full project life cycle of the scheme which consists of new build education teaching facility, Basement, low key labs and offices. Role purpose:

Key accountabilities:

Electrical Supervisor

My client is looking for an Electrical Site Supervisor covering the Kent area, working across Southern Water projects including CMDP.

Generally, the site hours will be between 7:00am – 5:00pm and will be an hourly paid position and will be a Permanent role.

Travel pay will also be included at 100% of the hourly rate. The role will include a van and a fuel card although there may be a wait for the van due to the current climate. If this is the case, they will pay 45p per mile up to 10k miles and 20p per mile thereafter.

By calculating the additional benefits, the overall salary will be in the region of £50,000-£55,000 per annum.

There is also a career progression path should the candidate desire.

The role will involve the following:

1. To be responsible for supervising electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and the companies.

As the Civil Asset Condition Team Leader for wastewater, you will lead the condition assessment process for large civil assets within the business.

You will define, manage, and support in the undertaking and reporting of conditional assessment of all large civil assets and support in the definition of remedial works and investment requirements. My client is looking for a Civil biased Sub Agent/Site Agent to be involved on working on a project in Guildford to relocate the Sewage Treatment Works. The client is involved in a joint venture where they design, construct and commission the new works in the town.

The project will include the construction of a 1.5km, 1,500mm-diameter tunnel to transport the sewage from the existing sewer network to the new site, along with facilities to carry out the four stages of treatment to meet environmental requirements before the treated water is returned to the River Wey via a newly-constructed outfall.

Part of the role, your responsibilities will include:

Electrical Supervisor

My client is looking for an Electrical Site Supervisor covering the Kent area, working across Southern Water projects including CMDP.

Generally, the site hours will be between 7:00am – 5:00pm and will be an hourly paid position and will be a Permanent role.

Travel pay will also be included at 100% of the hourly rate. The role will include a van and a fuel card although there may be a wait for the van due to the current climate. If this is the case, they will pay 45p per mile up to 10k miles and 20p per mile thereafter.

Our client is currently looking for a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller to join their in-house engineering team. This role will be based in Brighton with the option for flexible / hybrid working from home. Our client operates a 37 hour working week from Monday to Friday.

Job Overview

The Graduate Hydraulic Modeller will provide technical modelling expertise in wastewater and/or clean water to support design, construction and operation of assets. They are responsible for developing, embedding and driving efficiency, consistency and technical expertise. Collaborating and innovating ways of working will ensure the team can provide exceptional service to our clients’ customers, stakeholders and the wider business.

As a Graduate Hydraulic Modeller you will help to build, calibrate, validate, maintain and use models for route cause analysis and use modelling results to support stakeholders with decision making.

About You

SITE MANAGER

Having secured major public sector frameworks this large main contracting group have identified the need to recruit a Site Manager out of their Bristol office covering the South-West region

Role Purpose:

To manage a site or section, covering the day to day activities of the site team, to achieve successful completion in line with Company and Customer expectations. Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers and other third parties in the best interests of the business. This role will be supporting public sector frameworks.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee all site activities and monitor progress against the programme taking remedial action where appropriate whilst protecting the Company’s contractual position at all times.
  • Ensure the effective close out of projects and that snagging commences as specified by the customer from initial site set-up to completion.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of work to ensure high standards of quality are achieved and address any issues with the sub-contractors and trades.
  • Keep up to date and complete site records in line with Company and legislative requirements.
  • Identify potential issues which will affect successful project delivery and take necessary action to remedy the situation or escalate as appropriate.
  • Safeguard the Company’s contractual position, ensuring contract terms are understood and adhered to.
  • Work closely with the Commercial team to monitor the financial status of the project, identify solutions to problems and improvements and organise activity to deliver these.
  • Safeguard the Company’s financial position and report variations to the commercial team.
  • Manage prelim costs within budget.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience in public sector frameworks
  • Evidence of strong interpersonal and people management skills are essential
  • Strong technical knowledge, including building services
  • Extensive knowledge and awareness of health, safety, and environmental procedures, practices and legislation
  • Good customer relationship skills
  • Ability to multitask

Qualifications:

  • Must be fully qualified with the 7 point site passport
  • HND/HNC in building studies preferred
  • CSCS card required
